Cedar Art Exhibition – Wednesday 4 February

March 26, 2026 03:59pm

On Wednesday 4 February 2026 our school held a Cedar Art Exhibition that celebrated the creativity and hard work of our pupils. The event showcased the artwork they had produced since September when we introduced the new Kapow scheme.

The exhibition featured a wide range of pieces including sketchbooks, photographs of pupils developing their ideas and the final artwork created across the school. Our aim was not only to display completed pieces but also to show the learning journey behind them. Families, staff and pupils were able to see how skills and techniques had progressed over time and how these contributed to each finished piece.

In preparation for the event teachers captured photographs of pupils during art lessons, photocopied examples of work and gathered completed pieces to create year group displays.

A number of pupils kindly stayed for thirty minutes after school on the day of the exhibition to stand by their year group displays. They spoke confidently about the skills and techniques they had learned and shared insights into their artwork. This was particularly successful in Key Stage 2 although some enthusiastic Year 2 pupils also took part.

The exhibition was a wonderful celebration of the children’s creativity and the progress they have made in their art learning. It was a pleasure to welcome families into school to enjoy the work on display.
