Cedar Children's Academy proudly participated in a TCS London inspired mini-marathon, a lively event aimed at promoting physical activity among children while celebrating the iconic London Marathon. This initiative is part of the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering an active lifestyle among its pupils.

The mini-marathon provided a fantastic platform for pupils to showcase their enthusiasm for physical activity. The event aligns perfectly with the school’s mission to get children more active and engaged in physical exercise. By participating, the children not only enjoyed the thrill of the race but also embraced the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

The school’s curriculum is designed to enhance pupils' fundamental movement skills. They place a strong emphasis on physical education, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to play actively and enjoy a variety of PE activities. This approach helps pupils develop essential motor skills, coordination, and a love for physical activity that can last a lifetime.

Cedar is proud to be an Everyday Active School, a designation that underpins its commitment to providing daily opportunities for physical activity. This means that every child who attends the school has the chance to be active every day, whether it’s through how they get to and from school, structured PE classes, recreational play, or special events like the TCS London inspired Mini-marathon.

Assistant Headteacher Phil Carey, who ran the event, reflected on the experience sayingI’m incredibly proud of our children for their enthusiasm at the mini-marathon. This event was a fantastic opportunity for them to experience the joy of running and the spirit of community.

“At Cedar, we believe in the power of physical activity to enhance not only physical health but also mental wellbeing and teamwork. Watching our children cross the finish line with smiles on their faces was truly inspiring.”

The participation of Cedar pupils in the mini-marathon was a celebration of their hard work and dedication to staying active. The event was filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a sense of achievement as pupils crossed the finish line. It was a day to remember, highlighting the importance of physical activity and the joy it brings.

Looking ahead, Cedar Children's Academy looks forward to continuing its commitment to physical activity and participating in events that encourage a healthy lifestyle. The mini-marathon was just one of many opportunities for pupils to engage in physical exercise and celebrate their achievements.

The next event will be Cedar’s annual Sports Day, which takes place in July 2025.
