Celebrating Our Running and Cross-Country Successes

December 9, 2025 10:02am

Over the past few weeks, Cedar Children’s Academy has been buzzing with energy, determination and community spirit as our pupils took part in a series of exciting running and cross-country events. From fundraising to friendly competition, every child gave their best and made us proud.

Pudsey Run – Monday 17th November

Our whole school came together for the Pudsey Run in support of Children in Need. Every pupil took part, showing fantastic enthusiasm and resilience. Together, we raised an incredible £5,918.70, a testament to the generosity and commitment of our families and community.

Inter-Schools Cross-Country – Tuesday 25th November

We were thrilled to host our very first inter-schools cross-country competition. Over 40 children from Cedar Children’s Academy competed against pupils from other schools, representing us across year groups 3–6. Each runner showed great determination, and we are proud of how well our children performed in every race.

Whole School Cross-Country – Friday 28th November

To round off the month, our entire school took part in a cross-country competition. Pupils from Years 1–6 ran distances tailored to their age groups:

  • Years 1–2: 500m
  • Years 3–4: 800m
  • Years 5–6: 1.25km

The atmosphere was electric, with parents cheering from the sidelines and children giving their all. After an exciting day of races, it was announced that Sycamore Class (Year 5)were the overall champions, scoring over 200 points to claim the top spot.

A Huge Thank You

We are deeply grateful to all the parents and families who came to support our runners. Special thanks go to the PTFA for organising snacks and refreshments, helping to make the events even more enjoyable.

These events have not only showcased the athletic talents of our pupils but also highlighted the strength of our school community. We look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate teamwork, perseverance and school spirit in the months ahead.
