Eco Ambassador Training with Active Kent & Medway

March 26, 2026 04:20pm

Pupils across the county have been taking part in Eco Ambassador Training provided by Active Kent & Medway as part of their commitment to the School Games Eco-Friendly value. This exciting opportunity brought students together to learn how they can make a positive environmental impact through sport and physical activity.

The training day included a series of interactive workshops led by Kent Wildlife Trust, Kent Schools Active Travel and Road Safety Team and inspirational speaker Sarah Philpott. Through these sessions pupils explored how everyday choices influence the environment and considered how sport can be delivered in more sustainable ways.

During the day students created their own action plans which they will bring back to school in their role as Eco Ambassadors. These plans will guide future projects and help pupils lead meaningful change within their school community.

Once the training is complete there is also an opportunity to apply for £400 of funding. This can be used to support eco-friendly initiatives in school or the local community such as running a pupil-led Eco Ambassador training session.
