Reception children enjoyed their trip to Allhallows beach and the amenities offered at Kent Coast Haven Holiday Park. The sun was shining and the children were all in high spirits, with buckets and spades at the ready! The children really enjoyed the text “What the ladybird heard at the seaside” and were on the lookout for Lanky Len or Hefty Hugh as they had sent the children some messages last week. They also received a message from the mermaid so everyone was very keen to spot her. Unfortunately, the tide was out, which some children thought was because Lanky Len had stolen the water! Luckily, we did spot lots of ladybirds and shared lots of stories of what they might be saying to us.
We explored the beach, making some fantastic sand castles and digging holes before embarking on our rock pooling. We were so excited to find so many crabs and were very careful picking them up on our spades. Some of us had never seen them before so it was fantastic to share so many first experiences with the children.
After an adventurous start, we sat down to eat our lunch on the beach and refuel before visiting the adventure playground and sandpit. We were so proud of the children taking sensible risks when challenging themselves on the high equipment and they showed impeccable behaviour. The children enjoyed themselves in the large sandpit and even created their own “sand angels”.
We finished off the day with a well deserved ice-cream and lollies – including the adults! We all had such a fantastic time and wanted to stay longer.
