Innovate is passionate about delivering freshly prepared, great-tasting meals that support healthy growth, curious minds, and happy lunchtimes. Their menus are designed specifically for primary-aged children, using seasonal ingredients and child-friendly recipes that meet all School Food Plan standards.

Innovate’s approach includes:

  • Nutritious and inclusive meals: Allergen-aware options are available, including meals free from gluten, dairy, eggs, and soya.
  • Sustainability: Smart use of ingredients to reduce food waste.
  • Appealing presentation: Meals are colourful, comforting, and designed to encourage children to try new flavours.

If your child has a food allergy, intolerance, or medical condition requiring a special diet, Innovate’s expert nutritionists will ensure they are safely and fully catered for. To arrange a special diet menu, please contact the school office in the first instance.

Reception12:00 pm – 12.50 pm
Key Stage One12:15 pm – 1:05 pm
Key Stage Two12.15 pm – 1.05 pm

Parents can take their child home for lunch, although the majority of pupils choose to stay on the school premises. Pupils staying for lunch can choose to have either a hot lunch or a packed lunch. We request that there are no cans, glass bottles, fizzy drinks or sweets in pupils’ lunch boxes. This is intended to encourage healthy eating. Any type of chocolate or nut item should also be avoided as there are pupils in school with severe nut allergies.

Free School Meals

All children in Reception and Key Stage One will be entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Free School Meal Programme.

From 1st September 2025, the cost of a school meal will be £2.65 per day. Children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 automatically receive free school meals. If your child is in Year 3 or above, you may still be eligible for free meals depending on your circumstances. You can check eligibility and apply via: www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals or Medway Council’s website.

If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
