Sports Day 2026 at Cedar Children’s Academy was a vibrant celebration of teamwork, determination and school spirit. Although a sudden heatwave required us to postpone several events, our pupils, families and staff showed remarkable resilience and flexibility, ensuring that this much‑anticipated occasion remained a highlight of the school year.
A Week of Energy, Enthusiasm and Achievement
Once the weather cooled, Sports Day unfolded across several days, giving each year group the opportunity to shine. Pupils took part in a variety of exciting activities designed to promote teamwork, physical fitness and friendly competition. From relay races to obstacle challenges, every child had the chance to demonstrate perseverance, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
One of our Nursery groups was fortunate to enjoy their Sports Day earlier in the month, holding their event before the heatwave arrived. Their morning was filled with smiles, cheering and proud moments as our youngest learners took part in their first sporting celebration.
Throughout the week, families lined the field with encouragement and applause, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere. Staff worked tirelessly to ensure each event ran smoothly, and the children responded with energy, joy and a wonderful sense of camaraderie.
Class Competition Results
The Sports Day house competition brought out fantastic team spirit, with pupils proudly representing their houses throughout the events. After all activities were completed, the final standings were:

A huge congratulations to Pine Class, who secured first place with an impressive 142 points. Every class demonstrated outstanding teamwork and determination, and we are incredibly proud of all pupils for their effort and sportsmanship. A special well done also to Rowan Class who were crowned KS1 champions.

We look forward to an equally exciting Sports Day in 2027 and to celebrating even more of our pupils’ successes throughout the year. We are planning to move next year's event tot Term 5 to try and avoid the hot weather.
